What treasures are you making?

If you are like me you have a collection of things, not only a collection of things, but things that gather dust. I have many purses, shoes, quilts and chairs that I seem to love to collect, but really have no more room for them. Some collect cars that they cherish, some are doll collecters, some have the precious moments figures(which are beautiful),some its chickens,we all seem to collect something that brings joy. Many have lots of collectables in their homes, love to share them, telling the stories behind each one. Just as our ceiling fans collect dust(when they are moving all the time, figure that one out.),our treasures collect dust. As we dust them, looking at the beauty, they still will collect more dust. Some spend thousands on treasures that bring happiness. I have learned that happiness only lasts for but a moment. Just as if I were to get a new purse today, next week I will change it(maybe even that same day!). Just as when we go shopping and purchase the latest styles, many times they hang in our closets with the price tags still attached,or we have moved them to the back of the closet. No matter how many things we buy and collect, nothing will ever satisfy like Jesus. How many days do I think about what I want? Many. If we focus on what Jesus wants,we learn a whole new way of living. We don't focus on the "I",we focus on "Him". Our treasures start to be of other things. Treasures that are for the greater good of heaven. They are treasures we share with others about Jesus. They don't collect dust or get stolen or destroyed by fire, tornado,or hurrican. They last forever, just as God's word does. We try so hard to find happiness, when happiness comes and goes, changes with each day. We can find pure joy,joy that fills us,joy that is complete and lacking nothing. ""Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will also." Matthew 6:19-21 Let us not give priority to the things of this world, but make God our first priority. We cannot fill our homes with things thinking they will bring satisfaction. Only God can bring the satisfaction we desire so much. Many look all over the earth for things to bring peace, joy or comfort.Stop looking, for He is already here,He is right there waiting for us to call upon Him. Jesus is our real treasure,He is our real joy,He is our real peace that will last. Turn away from the things of this world to bring joy,and turn to Jesus today for that treasure that only He can give....
