Are you in a storm that you are fearful of?
We face many storms in our lives.We get tossed about,the wind seems to drive us down,the rain falls and the waves seem to overtake us. Storms can come in an instant,changing our lives forever. Today on television as we can tune into the news,we can watch the weather,and the approaching storms. The tornado sirens blare and give us warning of the oncoming storm. We can take shelter,cover ourselves and find safety. Just as when we learned in school to go into the hallways,bend down and cover our heads for protection,we can find that in Jesus when the storms seem to be blasting through.We don't always know when the storms of life are going to hit and try as they may to overtake us,they can come in an instant,without us knowing what is ahead. But as they come, we can find that Jesus will be there for us. We just need to have faith.Look at this scripture about storms;Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.and suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disiples came to Him and awoke Him,saying,'Lord,save us! We are perishing!' But He said to them,'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?'Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying,'Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" Matt.8:23-27 Why are we so scared at the storms of life when we have Jesus? And more so,why are we amazed when He does something awesome? Thats what God does,He calms the storm right when we are in the midst of it,or He will calm us as we are going through the storm. He will be our shelter,and our refuge. We should have great faith, and trust in our God for everything that will touch us. God made the seas and the waves,so it would only make sense that He and He alone can calm them. Just as the disciples in the boat grew weary and fearful of the storm,we too can have that same reaction. But we can change our reaction, knowing God is in control of all. He is our cover. We can crawl upon His lap or in His arms for comfort and shelter. We never have to be fearful of anything. If God can calm the seas,He can surely calm anything that comes our way.If you are in a storm today,you can find your shelter in Christ. He will sustain you,giving protection,and comfort in all.Just call out His name,and sound the sirens,He will come.....
