So many times we just seem to carry chains with us that bind us with our pasts,our regrets,our mistakes,our hurts,and our haunts. There are skeletons is our closets that seem to trap us and close in all around us,skeletons of our pasts. We try to move forward but those chains that have bind us to our past keep us tied down,they seem to keep us from moving forward. We are not alone in this, so many are struggling to hang on,take a breath in that deep ocean, to stay afloat. We must grab on to that life vest. Jesus is our life vest, He is the One who can keep us from drowning in our lonely pasts. I too have those skeletons that seem to creep out just at the right time when I am living for Christ. Satan has many tricks up his sleeves,and one of them is to drown us in our pasts,knowing just which ones will get us down and keep us there. So many times I have allowed my past to take hold of me,and bring me down in the depths of the deep blue,and make me feel as those the water is closing in all around me,and I cannot seem to come up to take a breath. Jesus can take those away if we allow ourselves to let go of them,lay them at His feet,allowing Him to rid ourselves of the pain we seem to pick up again and again. What is in your life right now that is keeping you down? Is there something there that is weighing you down? Is there something you keep putting down,only to pick it up again? We can let go,we can free ourselves with the love of Christ. We don't have to drown ourselves today of the sketetons in our pasts. With Christ we can open the closet door,and look with our eyes open and not be afraid at whats going to reach out and grab us. We can walk with Him and not be bound to our past,not be tied down with the weight of the past. Allow Jesus to take those chains away today. We can wake today knowing He is our God,we can trust in Him,knowing that whatever those skeletons are,Jesus can rid our lives of them. He has the key to unlock the chains. Only He can free us.What an amazing gift,an awesome thought,knowing we can be set free. We can look to His word. Just as Peter was in chains in prison,we too can have our chains removed by God's grace.Acts 12:5-7 says; "Peter was therefore kept in prison,but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod wa about to bring him out,that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying,'Arise quickly!' And his chains fell off his hands." God delivered Peter from the hands of Herod. He saved him,and unlocked the chains that bound him. He too can unlock our chains,make us free,and rid our closets of the ghosts that haunt us so. Don't give satan that room in your life. Let go of what is holding you,give it to Jesus and be bound no more. No matter what it is,Jesus can free us from all,with the click of just one key. He is that key that will unlock us from our pasts and free us with a future with Him...
