Kissed

We all love the kiss of our children,to kiss a new born baby,we remember our first kiss. A kiss is special in many different ways. The one thing it represents is love. In Luke 7:36-50 it tells of a sinful woman forgiven. It does not give her name, nor her sin. It is not Mary Magdalene. For it is a woman humbling herself before Jesus, wanting so badly forgiveness of her sins.I am going to share part of the verse here. 37-38 "And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her had; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil."This verse blesses my heart everytime I read it. I have a beautiful close friend that sings Alabaster Jar often. I am always telling her to sing it,for she has the most amazing voice, and the sweet words just seem to fill the room and you can picture the scene before you. This was an act of love, beauty, grace, mercy, and faith all rapped up into one giving herself to Jesus. Can you see the picture in your mind? Here is this humble woman, washing the feet of Jesus with the perfume in that jar of great wealth, wiping them clean with her beautiful hair and her final act was kissing His feet. Jesus knew she was a sinner in need of grace,in need of His forgiveness. He did not tell her to go away,I am busy, come again another day. He knew she needed Him right then and there. She did not say a single word to Jesus,it was her act and that alone that shown her love for Him. Her tears were upon His feet,as she cleaned them. I am that woman going forward to Jesus daily wanting so much His forgiveness and grace. I want to be humble before Him. How many feet have we washed? Really washed with love and tender care? We should be at Jesus' feet daily, seeing this act before us,and following her actions in our hearts toward Jesus. Can you imagine how tired and sore His feet were? Walking everywhere preaching the gospel for all to hear. All heard, but did not accept, nor did they understand this womans love and tender care. She didn't kiss Jesus on the face, she kissed His feet. The feet that walked this earth, the feet that took Him to many places full of sinners like me,and the feet that would soon be pierced with angry nails for His love for us. It was her faith that saved her,but her act was full of grace, grace that she wanted so badly and grace that she was giving, for she gave all she had with her alabaster jar,her tears, and a kiss that Jesus will forever remember....
