are you in need?

There are times when we are burdened by such overwhelming trials that we just cannot bear it any longer. As the morning breaks, the tears are already streaming down, the day feels long, although it just begun. The weight of it all just overtakes us like we're being hit from behind by a linebacker. The phone rings, and we don't want to pick it up. The doorbell rings and we can't find the strength to open the door with a smile, so we leave them thinking no one is home. The kids are screaming and fighting, the dog needs fed, the laundry is calling, the toilet overflowed from Johnny's sock, and you feel as though your going to pull your hair out. You have all the kids at the table trying to teach them, your husband needs your help, your mother is calling, and now your head is pounding. Sound like one of your days?

Your husband comes home saying they have closed the doors, and now he is looking for work. Your father has just been rushed to the emergency room. The funeral is today, and you don't think you will make it another day without a drink. Maybe you take a dose of your pain medication to just dull the pain. You feel like your falling apart from all the gossip and you just don't really want to face anyone any longer. You have been hurt so often you are not able to trust now. The doctor calls and says you need another test, for this one is showing something abnormal.

The list can go on and on. Maybe your a single mom, and you are working so hard trying to care for your children, you know longer are caring about yourself. Maybe you are going to school, and working, trying to do all and you can't seem to find a moments rest. The car is broken, the house insurance is gone, the bills are piling up, and you just want to scream from the top of your lungs.

Matthew 5:3 says this: "Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Are you feeling poor in Spirit today my friend? Is the darkness of your past not letting you go? Is each day of your present a struggle? Are you worried about your future?

You, nor I are alone. We have a Father in heaven who is watching out for us. He has His hand upon us. He has His eye on us. He is never leaving us, and He sees our tears, our fears, and our struggles. In the midst of your pain do not forget He is there. Reach out to Him and allow Him to restore what is broken. Open up your arms and wrap them around your Father and don't let go until you feel peace in your heart.

Our days can be hard and long on this earth, but we must remember this is not our home! We have a home in heaven, and we have a Father who gave His life for us. He knows pain, He knows suffering, and it is He who has given us a future, a secure future in heaven, filled with blessings.

When your right in the middle of your day and it feels like you are going to crack, raise your hands to Him. Call out to Him and He will answer. You just keep calling until you feel His presence.

Many of these struggles have been my own. I have been there on those days where I didn't want to see the next come. I have been there thinking I just want it to be over. With each trial that came, I thought I wouldn't make it, but you know what? I did! I made it through each one with Him and His strength. And through each one I can see His hand, His love and His rich blessings. It is through those very trials that my faith increased.

Don't give up today, you keep going, you keep praying, you keep hoping, and you keep your faith. The Lord is here with you and I. He hears our cries in the night, and sees our pain in the day. Whatever it is in your life today, call out to God and give it to Him.

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings of eagles, they will run and not grow weary, and they will walk and not be faint."
