who is your enemy?

So who is your enemy today? Do you have something or someone you are battling? Is there a big monster in your closet that you are fearful of? Sometimes our biggest enemy can be ourselves. We can find what is wrong with the world, we can see what else needs to be fixed, we can even see those who are against us, but can we really see when we are fighting our own war inside? For some it can be drugs, it can be sex, shopping, food, alcohol, drug addiction, any temptation this world has it can be what you are facing. Temptation and sin are our enemy. Our biggest enemy is satan, and we tend to forget that when others cross our path and treat us badly. Its not really that person, it is satan moving through them for the attack on us. Sometimes, we can take aim and fire at those who we feel are against us, but it is satan who we should be on guard of, putting on our full armor of God to fight the battles that attack us each day. It can be a person trying to destroy us, it can be an addiction taking over our bodies, any weak spot in our life that satan sees, he will come and try to destroy us through those areas. He is here for destruction, to totally destroy all that is good, but he cannot ever do so, for God is God, King of Kings, and He is mighty, much bigger than any temptation, any sin that can touch us. What do we do with those battles that seem to wage war against us? We fight them on our knees! We may not win every battle, but God has already won the war, so we have nothing to fear, we should stand and praise His name for all His glory. There are times that if we are not careful we can let the enemy take over our lives. We can spend so much effort and time trying to fix things, trying to change circumstances we have no control over, that we lose sight of our purpose and why we are here. We have to realize its not about us, and we don't have to win every fight, in fact, we need to let God face our battles for us, its not always about being right, its about letting God be God. Life can be so hard at times, at times we may not understand all, but we can know that God is in control, and He knows the enemy better than any of us. For us what better way to fight the enemy than to stay close to Christ and let His strength guide us through the battle we are facing. For me, there are days that each day is a struggle. I have to face myself and realize I cannot fight my battles alone, I need God, I need His comfort and protection against the enemy that seems to take over. We all have enemies, we have our own temptations we battle, we need to suit up, stand firm, and let God direct us in all our paths. For me my battles are much worse when I get off my path with Christ. When I am close to Him, I feel His hand upon me and I know in my heart that nothing in this world can touch me. Who is your enemy today? Is it someone attacking your family, is it the temptations of the world, does everything seem like its falling apart in front of you? Satan has a way of letting us fall into our pity parties, he has a way of letting us fret over petty things, and we soon begin to take on the idea of I need to attack before they attack me. We need to set our minds upon Christ, upon the good, and fight the good fight with Christ at our side. With Christ with us, who can be against us? No one can, no one can take away the most important thing we have, and that is our faith. Satan can try with all his might, but he is powerless to Christ. He has nothing on Christ, so we can stand strong in God, and keep His word hidden in our hearts, live out His word, and strengthen our relationship with Him. When we take our eyes off Christ, we place them upon other things that are not worthy to be praised. Don't be afraid to face today, Christ is right there with you. With Jesus Christ we can overcome anything~ Psalm 31:24 "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." Romans 6:8-14 "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. for we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again, death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all, but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but reather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of our body to Him as instruments of righteousness. for sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace."
