Why are you doing what your doing?

Why do we do the things we do? There is always a reason, it is either for the Lords glory, for others, or yes, at times we do things simply for our own desires. In all we do we should do all for the glory of God, for His kingdom. We should put others before ourselves, and we should never do anything for our gain only. Listen to this scripture. "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.? Philippians 2:3-4 We should have the right mindset daily, we should be focused on Christ, and His will for us. We should be reaching out to help others in need, to check on others and see if there is anything we can do to help them in situations that in turn affect us all. There are those who are only looking out for number one. They step on others to get ahead, to get that big promotion. I will do for you as long as I am getting something out of it. Others don't matter to me, only what happens to me and my own. Sadly there are those who feel this way. Where is the mercy and grace given to others that Christ has given us? We should never have selfish motives for anything we do, all we do should bring glory and honor to God. All the good in us and that we do is from God not us. The gifts that we have are because of Him. We should humble ourselves before others never thinking we are better, more talented, or more important. It is not I will scratch your back if you scratch mine. We should be willing to help others if there is no thank you, if there is no other connection, and to show them who Jesus is through us. We shouldn't have a motive for helping others, we should be living out what Christ has placed in us. We should be allowing the Holy Spirit to move through us and to touch others with the love of Christ. Its not about being first, its not about getting praise, its not about advancing our own desires, its all about Christ. We are servants of a gracious God. He will place others in our lives, in our paths for us to touch all for His gain and glory. When is the last time you did something special for someone? When is the last time you forgot all about yourself and let others come before you? What we may think as small, for those we are reaching out to it is big. I remember my mom telling me,"I think you are getting just a little too big for your britches." She made sure I came back down to earth! When we start thinking we are pretty big, God will show us just how small we really are in one way or another. We also have to leave our circle, and reach out to those who are not close to us, those who we know are in need. When we come out of our box, our circle, and off our pedestal and realize just who we are and who we are not, we can begin to see how big God is and how all we do is for Him. All we do should take the eyes off us, and place them upon Christ. All we do should be a reflection of Christ living in us. Today reach out to help another, reach out to someone you do not know, reach Christ's arms out to a world in need of love, grace, and mercy. When we reach out, and do things for others, watch what Christ can do, and be amazed...
