choices...

Today I am reminded of the choices I have made in my life. Each and every choice we make impacts the rest of our lives. Our choices just don't effect us but all those around us. From waking up to going to bed at night and laying your head down each and every day is all about choices. Can you really imagine just how many times a day we make choices? Our choices are like a ripple effect reaching out to others. At times our choices are effecting others that we don't even know. I know that each choice I made as a kid growing up has effected the rest of my life, although at the time I thought it was just about that one moment in time. Well, that one moment in time leads on the next, and what we are letting effect us, we inturn effect others by our choices. Our choices can either be good or bad, but each one we make begins our reputation. We will be known by our reputation. Our choices we make tell alot about who we are and the impact we are making on this earth and the legacy we will leave behind. Whether we are christian or living for this world our choices speak volumes of who we are and what we believe. Young people tend to just live in the here and now, as we get older we understand each choice we have made unravels who we have become. Many times the choices we have made have been made in a moment of thinking with our feelings, not thinking with wisdom. The choices we make as parents effect our children and even our grandchildren. The friends we choose to have, what we allow in our lives, and what we are doing day to day are from the choices we have made. Each choice is bringing us closer to Christ or moving us farther away from Him and His protective hand. When are children are small we make choices for them. We try to make wise choices for we love our children with all we have. But sometimes even as parents the choices we make are not the ones we should be making. If Christ is the center of our lives, our choices are going to be surrounded by our love for Him. If we are not following Christ our choices are going to be made by worldly advice. We make a choice to tell the truth or lie. If our choices are all made selfishly and with worldly advice we are fooling ourselves into believing all in our lives are okay. We must think before we choose. Too often we make choices without even thinking twice about the effect it will have on us and those around us. We full ourselves into thinking our choices are the right ones. I could write about what is wrong and right and back it up with scripture, but we already know right from wrong. We make the choice to do wrong and we make the choice to tell ourselves that we are doing anything wrong, all the while deep inside we know its wrong, we feel it being wrong, but we have lied to ourselves for so long now we begin to sadly believe we are living the great life. We try to teach our children from our mistakes, just as my mom tried to teach me from hers, sadly we have to learn the hard way at times and learn on our own. I have always said,"A mistake is only a mistake if we have not learned from it, and we make the choice not to do it again." Have you ever said something or have done something, and only minutes later you thought to yourself,"Why,did I do that? That was so dumb." You have heard,"We cannot change our mistakes, they are already made." I feel as though we can change them. From the moment we know we were wrong, we can make the choice to make it right. We can choose to learn from that choice and know just how satan can trick us and trip us up. He is there in our lives everyday trying his very best to get us to live by our feelings and not by Christ and His wisdom. When we need to make a choice we should go to God in prayer, and wait for His answer. We often feel as though when we are young, we can live it up until we are older and more mature, then we can come to Christ and live for Him. That isn't a wise way to live. We never know what the next minute will bring, or the effect of the choice we make on others. Today is the day to come to Him, and choose His way. To stop living selfish lives and live for Him. I often think at my funeral what are others going to say about me. I would much rather say I lived for Christ with all my heart through the good times and the struggles, instead of having someone say,"Man, that girl knew how to party!" It isn't just our life now, its the legacy we leave behind, our mark on this world. Did we live life trying to make a difference, or did we choose to live just for us in the moment? The choice is still yours. God hasn't taken our freewill away, is our choice if we come to Him or if we chose ourselves. What is your choice? What are your choices doing to your walk with Christ, with your relationship to others, and what are your choices doing to yourself? A choice made in a moments thought, will have a lasting effect on your life, from the smallest choice to the biggest, each one makes for another. What do your choices say about your life today? "The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord." Isaiah 11:2 "He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities." Isaiah 53:11 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Psalm 111:10 " Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding." Proverbs 3:13 "For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her." Proverbs 8:11 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it wil be given to him." James 1:5 When we are searching for the right choices we can always turn to God for the answer before we move...
