are you flipping a coin?

Many times we flip a coin to make a choice. We hang on to that rabbits foot, or that good luck charm. We believe in luck, we believe in destiny, we believe that somehow in the luck of the draw our lives can be changed or moved. What are you using for the day to help you in your decisions? We too often think its the luck of the draw that places us where we are. There is no such thing as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy. There is no such thing as luck, destiny, or the gods of this world. There is only our God and His perfect will for our lives. I have to say we never did Santa, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy in our home. We believed that if we lied to our children about those things, would they in turn one day believed we lied about Christ Jesus. We didn't want to make Jesus one of those lucky charms for them, we didn't want them to wish upon Him for their gifts and the things they want. Our world today puts so much on luck, superstition and the horoscopes that God is totally taken out, and man is risen to seem to be able to change what happens to him today by willing it on a good luck charm. People are often looking for something to satisfy them, something to bring them all that they think they deserve, for they are looking in the wrong places for that satisfaction. God is not our lucky charm, we can't just call upon Him for every whim we have. He isn't our Santa Claus, and He isn't going to leave money under our pillow. These are all things that man has put into our world to create for ourselves. Instead of believing in man, and charms we need to place all our faith in Christ, and teach our children that He is real and there is nothing that can take His place or bring us good luck when we need it. We turn to Christ in prayer, and with our trust in Him, we believe His will for our lives is what is best. Our lives are not drawn out by the flip of a coin, they are brought about solely by God. When we place our faith in other things we are placing our faith on idols, and making them before our God. Today if you have something weighing on your heart, a decision to make, turn to Jesus Christ and believe in Him and His promises, leaving all the worldly idols behind..."For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary." Psalm 96:4-6 "Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For even if there are so called gods, whether in heaven or on earth(as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and through whom we live. However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; for some, with consciousness of the idol, until now eat it as a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled." 1 Corinthians 8:4-7
