Grab yourself a big southern glass of ice tea and get ready to travel to Cedar Key. Wow, what a journey, Eva Marie Everson, takes us on. We meet, Kimberly Tucker, "Boo", as some call her. I absolutely loved her character. Maybe because I could relate so well. Kim Tucker is a mom of two. Divorced and trying to move forward, but she has a little trouble with control. She can't seem to let go and boy, she is a fixer too. I just know we would be best friends!
Life is ever changing for Kimberly. She is still mourning the loss of her mother and most assuredly, the loss of her marriage. She just can't seem to figure it all out. For the summer, Kimberly, is traveling back to her family's summer place in Cedar Key. A place for her to find solace. She finds so much more. She finds answers her heart has been looking for. She meets new friends along the way and meets up with her first love. A young love, many summers ago, long before life became confusing.
I loved this book for many reasons. It gives us a look into a family that seems perfect from all views. We seem to do that, don't we? We look at another family and think they have the perfect life. Little do we know, they hurt just like us. We get a glimpse at divorce and how it effects our children. I was again reminded that I have no control. The only thing I control are my choices. We see, Kimberly, go through a transformation in a short time. In this short time God placed people in her life to show her a different way and to give her life changing advice. All in God's timing and He has perfect timing. Friends, you will love Kimberly Tucker and the journey she has as she is chasing sunsets. She not only finds love, but grace as she learns to let go and let God.
