Just what is a proposition? In Webster it says: Something offered for consideration or acceptance. We have propositions to vote on each year. We have marriage propositions. Each day we can find a proposition somewhere, good or bad. They are there waiting for our attention. We can choose to ignore them. Vote no. Reject the offer. Or, we can choose to accept the offer. But aren't we always skeptical about something that sounds too good to be true? That is why I have taught my son before he votes to do research on the propositions before him. We need to know the information before us. Better than listening to an other's opinion or thoughts we always gain more knowledge when we search it out for ourselves.
Propositions get turned down all the time. Ever see a young man get turned down by the girl of his dreams? It is heartbreaking. Well, my friends, there is one proposition that is the best yet! It is sent to us with love. It was given to us in a humble way. It will not only last for one term, but stand forever! Yes, I am speaking of Jesus Christ. Our Savior. He has come with a proposition filled with truth. You will find no lies and no take backs here.
First there is Proposition A. Acceptance. When we accept Christ as our Savior He gives us life. Life everlasting. When we accept Him our life changes forever for the good. He comes into our lives with such passion and purpose.
Then next there is Proposition B. Belief. When we believe upon Him, He sets us free. The chains of bondage are gone and life is renewed. We belief in Him with faith. A faith that is strong and grounded. In that faith we not only find Christ, but we find ourselves. That is truly something that leads us to a content life. Christ is the One who completes us.
When we have accepted Him as our Savior, and find our belief in Him, now comes Proposition C. Confess. When we confess our sins to Him they are forever forgotten. As far as the east is to the west. They are no more my friends. When we confess our sins we are letting go of so much holding us down from really living a full intended life. Confessing only makes us more humble for the Lord to move through us. It keeps us real. It fills our hearts with peace. A peace at times we don't even understand, but brings such comfort.
We all want life, but what kind of life do you want? An abundant life can be found in Him. A new life can be given through Him. A renewed life filled with a joy you didn't know existed. He is that One friend that will never leave your side. He will be there for that moment when all goes wrong. He will lift you up when you fall and carry you when you are too weak to take another step.
In life we find many decisions. Each choice we make effects our life forevermore. The decisions we make today will effect tomorrow. Our legacy depends on today. Today matters. This moment in your life matters. Our Savior is the God of second chances. Don't you want to take that chance with Him? I promise you will never go wrong with Christ leading the way and filling your heart with all you ever needed and more.
Psalm 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through Him the world might be saved."
This is one proposition that brings promise. Every word holds true. My past is just that, my past. The Lord is my present and my future now. With Him in life there is a sweetness that was never there before. There is path set before me. There is love to fill my heart and forgiveness when I stumble. In Christ we find hope. Hope in today and for tomorrow. Don't miss out on this proposition. Don't take my word for it. You search it out for yourself. As your friend, I promise this is the best proposal you will ever accept. See all He has for you today. We don't have to change and clean up to come to Him. He sees and knows our heart already. He has been waiting for your yes. In that yes, He will forever bless!!
