House of Representatives?

Today is voting day my friends. No matter what the issue we should vote with knowledge, passion and faith. Too many times we let popularity get in the way. We do so in just about every area of our lives though. When we are walking in faith we are in God's word feeding ourselves with wisdom and knowledge. When we are filled with wisdom and knowledge we then have a passion for all God stands for.
We are allowed to vote in our country. A privilege indeed. We choose these leaders by their morals, their values. We want leaders we can depend on. Leaders who are willing to take a stand. Leaders who are willing not to be the popular person. Leaders without fear. Leaders without doubt. Leaders who are willing to face the battles ahead planted firmly and grounded in what is really important.

Issues matter. We should be passionate. Many times we see leaders break their promises and go the opposite way they intended. We see leaders fall into humility. We see these leaders backslide and let their morals take the low road while their flesh that is filled with power take the high road.

So, whose house really matters? I think it is God's house. Who is God's house? The church. The people of faith. God's children. I think it all begins within. Before we go changing others we must take a deep look inside our own heart and mind.

As we are the house, just how are we representing our God? We are His representatives. Do we live out each day by popularity? Do we allow our flesh to guide our thoughts and heart? As representatives we should be willing to take a stand for God. We should be willing to go the extra mile.

We should be serving bringing glory to Him, not filling our own selfish needs. It's not our name that is so important, it's the name of the One we represent. It's being willing to take a stand, but doing so giving all honor to God. It is sharing our values not just in our speeches, but in our actions. We see too many politicians say one thing and do another. We should hold respect of others. Our voice should count. All it takes is one voice, one willing vessel to lead the way. I believe He has come and His name is Jesus Christ!! He has shown us the way my friends. He is leading us. It's up to us to follow. It's up to us to show others the way just by the standards we live by.

We will be known by our reputation. Think about that. How do you want others to perceive you? Our actions tell it all. When we falter may we be able to stand and make right our wrong. After all, a man after God's own heart will do what is right when He has done wrong. How faithful are we? Today is a wonderful day to begin looking inside our own hearts. We are electing others to run our country. The very land we live in. Before we go electing others we should be clear minded and have the knowledge to back up what we are standing for. We should never vote blindly. Knowledge is power.

I pray as God looks down on His house of representatives, He sees faithful servants, filled with the Spirit, doing and living His will. We can stand together hand in hand and walk this journey together. Cheering one another on all the way. May we lift up our country in prayer today as we should everyday. We do live in the Land of the free and the home of the brave!!

"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." Philippians 2:3-4

"He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8
