Imagine being car jacked, beaten, and left for dead. That's what happens to Kelly in FORGET ME NOT. As her attackers leave her for dead, they leave her in the woods, and an older man finds her, a Christian, who wants to help. But Kelly has no memory of who she is. Now after her tramatic scene this new friend takes her to a center for help. Kelly knows she cannot go to the police or the hospital, but cannot quite put it all together. Once at the Crossroads Crisis Center she sees a painting that looks just like her, and she happens to be wearing the neckless that belonged to this woman in the portrait, along with a card with Susan written upon it. So what is the connection here? Is this all just a coincendence? As the center is trying to help Kelly and figure out just who she is, they make the call to Benjamin Brandt, the owner and the widowed husband of Susan, the woman in the portrait. Three years ago he lost his wife and son as they were murdered, they were wrongly murdered as Susan was mistaken for Kelly. There is much going on here behind the scenes as men are after Kelly, and want her dead for what she knows. We have a terrorist group who is calling the shots, and many are involved. As the story unfolds we find out how all the peices fit together, but for me, it took a while to connect everything. There are many characters in this book that are unraveling around Kelly. One thing Kelly remembers is her strong faith, and that faith brings her through this trial. As this too is a trial for Benjamin, he comes back to a faith he left, and has answers he couldn't find. We see growth, love, and faith come together through this suspense/thriller. I enjoyed the book, but found it hard to follow at times. God is always at work behind the scenes, as He was here at the crisis center, bringing healing to those who needed it most.
