Do you have a song of praise?

As I was reading about Mary and Joseph I read Mary's song and I had to think about my own song. Do I have a song for Jesus? Are my words, my action, and my life singing and not just singing, but singing for Christ and showing who He is and who He is in me? At times we all go by our own tune, we tend to think about all we have to do, we think about our circle not thinking beyond it, and our song is no longer about Jesus, but its about us. Is our tune all about us, or are others hearing Jesus coming from our lips? "And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And Holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever." Luke 1:46-55 This was Mary's praise and worship to God for what He had done for her and for those of the past that had come before her. She was singing of Him, not herself as a proud woman. She was humble in spirit, and she was blessed that God was using her for His glory, not to glorify her. Mary was a simple girl, she was a Hebrew, and she was amazed that God would look upon her to carry the Son who would come to change the world. She knew about God's love, His respect and fear, and she knew His grace upon her. She was not perfect, but she was the perfect one for the job called upon to carry Jesus. It doesn't mean Mary was holy, it doesn't mean she was better, she was called upon by God, and she answered. She loved God, and trusted Him. Do you ever realize God calls upon the simple, the humble, those who are willing to open their hearts to Him? He uses those that love Him before anything else in their lives to work for Him, to bring Him glory, and that is what Mary's song is all about. Our song should be as Mary's. Although we all have different blessings to sing about, our life song should be about Christ. What is your song whispering today? Is it bringing praise and glory to God, or are you trying to bring the praise and glory to yourself? It is an easy pit to fall into, but we don't have to stay there, we can bring our focus back to God and begin our song again, the words of our song are sweet to Christ's ear. Our life song can impact the world just as Mary's did, if we will keep the focus off of us, and turn it back to Christ.
