you want to be an all star?
We hear the statements "Be all you can be", and "Just do it". So many times in life we think we can do it all, we think we can be all we can. We can do nothing alone, but with Christ we can do anything. We will never be all we can until we allow Christ to live in us, to move in us, and to be the Lord of our life. The lessons in life are hard, some knock us down, but it is those very lessons that teach us wisdom, that teach us we need to let our pride go, and turn to the Savior who gave His life for us. Being an all star is not about us, its not about what we can do, its all about Jesus and what He can do. We often think we need no one, we think we can do it all ourselves, but it is in those prideful moments that we often hit the ground as we are running to the top. It is in those moments that we have turned all away, that we find out just who loves us and who is out for themselves. It is when all has left us that we finally look and find Jesus there where He has been the whole time. We have just been too busy looking at ourselves. We really do have to die to ourselves to allow Christ to live in us. Meaning giving up our fleshly desires, giving up our wants and our will so the Lord can show us His will for our lives, show us His desires for us, and not our wants but showing us He will provide all our needs. Until we do that we are going to continue to fight a battle within us. In our battle we often think our life is ours to live the way we wish, to find ourselves, to seek our desires. It is in that battle that Jesus will always show Himself true while we are trying to hide behind the lies that we have been telling ourselves, the lies of satan that we have believed, it is those very lies that will destroy us. But when we decide to turn to Jesus, to lay all down, to stop listening to the lies and seek the truth we will find Jesus and see just how much He loves us and how much He has for us. There is no greater love than His, so why do we turn to another to seek out what only Christ can give us? When we totally sell out for Jesus, when we no longer seek the fame and fortune of ourselves, we find a Savior who has been there, who has been waiting for us to take His hand, so He may lead us, love us, and live through us. It is at that moment that we are all stars for Christ. A part of growing up, a part of maturing is coming to understand life is not about us, its not about our gain, but about Christ and His gain. What kind of all star do you want to be? Who do you want to shine for? What is it that you are seeking today? When a basketball player walks out onto the court, he is prepared, he has trained, he has on his uniform, he is not the only player but part of team, a team that has a coach who has taught them, who has led them, and who cares for the greater good. Our lives with Christ are the same. When we walk out into the world, we have been trained by Jesus, we have been led by Him, we have on His uniform, He is the greatest coach ever, He prepares us for life if we listen. You don't just want to sit on the bench, you want to get out there and play, but not for us, but for the glory of our amazing God! There is no greater team to play on. The bright lights are not for us, but for our Savior who gave all, so we could have life. When we wake daily, thinking upon Christ, putting on our christian uniform, suiting up in the armor He has given, living in His word, allowing the Spirit to move through us, we are being all stars for Christ. Freedom only comes through our Savior, for us to feel that freedom, we must let go of ourselves. Are you wondering why nothing is turning out the way you thought? I have been there, thinking I can do it all, but only to find out I can't. When we choose our own path, we then are placing our trust in ourselves, and that is not what Christ wants for us. We must trust in Him, place our lives in His hands, and He will lead us to the right path, the path that will set us free from the bondage of our own selfish desires, our own pride and our own foolishness of thinking we can make all on our own. Today can be a new beginning for you and I. We can place our faith in Christ, we can turn our lives over to Him, that we have been trying to hold on to and climb to the top. We can see what life is all about, who it is all about if we take our eyes off ourselves and place them on Christ. When we turn to Him, we can become all stars for Christ. Be totally sold out for the One and Only, letting Him shine before us~ Philippians 4:13 " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:19" And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Proverbs 29:23 " A man's pride will bring him low, but the humble in spririt will retain honor." Proverbs 18:25-26 "He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered." Proverbs 22:4 " By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life." Put your shoes on today, walk in His steps, and give Him praise for all~
