"Soul's Gate" by James Rubart

"Soul's Gate", is my first book I have read by James Rubart and I gotta tell ya, I'm ready to grab his other books!! This is the first installment of this series and I cannot wait to see where he goes with it next. This book ROCKED! It had me at the very first page. My fingers just kept turning pages. There were passages that went back and read over. Yes, it's that good!

I love the premise of good verses evil. The fact that we are battling a war around us daily against the spiritual world is something that we all should pay more attention to. For me, I can walk away with great insight and a desire to dive in my Bible even more.

The characters are battling their own demons. Now they are about to face more, but they are armed with the Holy Spirit to lead them. They face their fears head on and in doing so, they learn more about themselves. They let go of their own demons and give them to the Lord and find a new strength in Him. Their own demons have kept them from truly seeing. Now, they have come together with Reese and are ready to enter others souls and intercede for them. I love this! Isn't this what we are to do for others? Intercede with prayer? I tell you, this book holds such valuable lessons to walk away with. There is power in walking in the Spirit. It's in Him that we can face every single battle in life.

There are a mixture of characters and there is at least one everyone should be able to relate to. There was something about each of them that had me wanting to just sit down and have coffee with them. God uses those who seek Him and learn to look beyond themselves. God is about to use these people for His glory and honor. What a trip! What a journey and we get to be part of it!

This book was fascinating and exhilarating. It's one of those books that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It not only holds suspense, but drama unfolds. We see love and redemption. Forgiveness and the surrender of self.

'Soul's Gate" had me thinking non-stop as I pondered the truths of demons and angels and just how important our devotion to Christ is in His kingdom work. I could go on and on about this book. Remarkable!

This book was a gift from Thomas Nelson for its review.
