Put Your Watch Away

I remember as a kid my friend's mother would tell me, "A watch pot never boils." We have those moments we are anticipating time spent with another. We are excited for their arrival. The amazing thing is the fact that once there with them we are not looking at our watch to see how much time we have left. We are too busy enjoying the time we are spending with them. It's when we do finally look at our watch we see that even though we were to be home by 4:00 it is now 5:50 and time has flown by without us even realizing. Why? The only focus we have is that friend sitting across from us. We are having a blessed time laughing and just enjoying the time spent.

This is how our Savior sees His time spent with us. He is in anticipation of our arrival and He wants to spend every minute with us. He is always on time and He is that friend who looks forward to listening to everything we want to share. He even knows us so well, He knows too what we are not sharing. His wisdom and guidance out ways any other. He takes us by the hand and says, "Come, sit with Me for a while and don't worry about the time."

We too should be in anticipation of our time spent with Him. We shouldn't be worrying about our next appointment or who is coming over tomorrow or how the house looks. He just wants to come and visit our heart.

Friends, put your watch away today. Don't look at the time. Just enjoy your time with Him. Anticipate all the joy and love He is about to share with you. Open your heart up to His guidance and council. Allow Him the time He so deserves and make it as though He is the only One is the room!

"I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food."
Job 23:12

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God."

Psalm 42:1

"Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."

Psalm 119:11
